Better late than sorry...

Jiiises, it's been almost a month since our last update. School is crazy! We try to get most out of the spear time we have, so that doesn't leave much time and energy for blogging. Sorry :( We're gonna try to fill you in on some of the stuff we've been up to lately...

We attended a ANSA barbeque (Assosiation of Norwegian Student Abroad). Free burgers and soft drinks... Yes, please! Think we were about 100 students from Norway, Sweden and Denmark. 

We had a well deserved day of pampering. We went to Ala Moana Shopping Center where we had our hair done and ate a yummy lunch. Anniken also had a spa treatment... Warm towels, terapeutic oil, and hand/arm massage. Aah!

A big group of our friends joined for our first tript to the cinema in Hawaii. We saw the "The Town" - an action thriller! Go see!

Went to Walmart for another shopping spree. Turned out to be a work out!

We went to China Town for the 1st friday of the month! The streets shut down for a block party... lots of clubs, lots of people from all over the island. By the look of the picture taken in the cab, you can tell we were already pretty drunk. Definetly one of the best nights out in Hawaii.

What's that glowing in the toilet? Oh noo! Lisa dropped her phone in the pee pee! Nice one.

The cops were keeping everything in order... including us! 

We went to the other side of the island, to Kailua Beach. It's one of the most beautiful beaches here in Oahu, and a total different experience than Waikiki.

We were having som trouble finding the beach, when out of nowhere Keoni pulled up in his truck... heaven sent! Could have easily gotten a flat tire with all this weight in the back ;) 

With all the tanning oil on Trym's body, this pic it was inevitable.

After a whole day at the beach, we went back to Keoni's house for a barbeque. Met some more of his friens, and it was a really good day!

We loove Hawai'i!! 

Skydiving

Tuesday we took an impulse trip up to North Shore to go skydiving. Our nabours from north, Andreas, Patrick and Odd Martin, with their two friends visiting, Karsten and Audun, were kind enough to squise us all into their Jeep. Sitting in the trunk was perhaps not so comfortable, but indeed fun.

Us girls had to go first, 'cause the boys wimped out for a second. It turned out for the best though, 'cause while Annikens skydiver was talking about his kids, Lisa and Martines youngsters took the conversation to a whole other level. Let's just say some key words were: vagina, boobs and stripping. To top it off, Lisa was asked if she had a boyfriend, while still in the air, and Martine was asked out on a barbeque party. Lovely guys ;)

1 minute free fall! Amazing feeling, out of the body experience!

"I believe I can fly. I believe I can touch the sky!" - aaaand so I did!

The boys had just landed and are happy to be alive. Aaaww, sweet bromance!

North Shore, for sure!

Rental car- check, nice people- check, bikini and beer- CHECK! On the road and off we go! After three weeks in Waikiki we needed something else to do. We cant complain, but Waikiki is not as nice as North Shore, that we realized after a day up in the north. Our day started with a 2 hour drive. We took the long way up, but only because its the nicest road to take. On the way we stop at different places to take pictures and jump from cliffs.

So much fun!

After driving for a while we took a longer stop at Waimea beach to relax, swim and tan! We were suppose to surf also but the water was flat! So we just hung out at the beach and got to know some really interesting true American marine dudes.

Our amazing day was not over yet, a house party was the next in our schedule. Lots of beer, wine and cocktails mixed with ocean view, playing pool, beer pong, good music and the party was on!

After a long and exciting day we got back in the car end drove back to our home town, Waikiki. Some of us went out for more fun, while others was tired after a long day and went home. Tank you everyone for a great day/night at North Shore, we will be back! 

Coconut Island & Kailua Beach

Last saturday was amaaazing, so of course I have to share some of it with you!
8 am, Bettina called me up, reminding me that we were leaving shortly for Coconut Island. Keoni had arranged for us to be picked up by a friend of his, after taking the bus for about an hour all the way up to North Shore.

Can't believe all 7 of us fit in his truck. In Hawai'i, we're allowed to sit in the back. Nice and breezy ;)

On the boat... We were the last ones arriving at Coconut Island, so we were greeted by around ten of Keonis friends.

We all took our turn on the boat tube... two girls, and a boy in the middle to hold us down. Tummie tickles and loads of fun! (A better picture will be uploaded soon).

Then it was time to leave for Kailua Beach, one of Oahu's most beautil beaches. Nick and his family ownes a house right on the beach, so we were excited to check it out.

Turned out it was an awesome party house. Gigantic barbecue area, a pool, a jaccusi and beds for everyone. Some key words for the night: red cups, skål, never-have-I-ever (drinking game) and skinny dipping. I think we ended up being around 30 people, and it was a great crowd. Best laughs ever, came when we were teaching the guys some Norwegian sentences. Guess you can imangine what direction they were pointed in ;) Definetly hope we'll spend some more nights at the Kailua beach house!!

While the girls are away, the cockroach will play...

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIK!!! Martine comes running into our livingroom, screaming hysterically. "What, WHAT??" - "There's a f*** cockroach in my room!!" Guess you can figure out what happened next... We all jumped up in the couch, pushing each other, trying to get just one girl down on the floor and then forcing her to take action. That didn't work out so great so we decided: always stick together. How could we forget? When upon attack, never leave each others side. So we all went in Martines bedroom together, getting down on our knees, slowly lifting up the bedsheets and peeking under her bed.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIK!!! ...back up in the couch. We're not kidding when we say: it came flying at us. Homeboy had wings. "GET a box, get a freakin box", Anniken yells. While in pannick, Martine reaches for the first thing available to her. She throws a book, and it hits with a bang. Homeboy was dead! But of course, Anniken had just read on google: "do not kill the cockroaches, hundreds will show up to the funeral." Oh, snap! Panick! "Get the window spray". "I'll get the desinfection." "Close the balkony door." And so we went on for a while.  Of course the cockroach had to come into our appartment... attacking perhaps the three biggest wussies in Waikiki. We're finally cooled down now. Well, not exactly. Martine went to bed, praying for all cockroaches to disappear into the sky. Lisa decided to get drunk and forget about the whole incident. Anniken on the other hand, went cleaning psycho. "No way I'll let homeboy spread eggs all over our floors, maybe homeboy is a homegirl".

So, our fellow Norwegians. Take this chance to stop feeling so jealous of us being in Hawai'i, and you being stuck in Norway. Just think of this little fellow... You're lucky he doesn't like cold weather!

OMG, did this really happen?

If you wonder how the people of Waikiki are, we can tell you that they are either Norwegian or Asian... at least that|s not too far from the truth. So if you like Norwegian people or Asian people, Waikiki is the place to be... They are EVERYWHERE! When you speak a different language than the country your are in we all know how easy it is to talk behind others back, 'cause you think they don`t understand you... Let's just say: think twice before you talk...this is what happened:

It was a beautiful day in the state of Hawaii, we had our first lunch break from school and was chilling at Starbucks. Then a good looking guy turned up, from nowhere. All the girls was totally taken by his stunning lips and eyes, but after Annie said that he gave her the most flirting looks ever, the rest of the girls threw in their towels. When he sat down next to us we tried to come up with a plan for Annie to get his number. What could we do??? We started talking about asking him just straight up, but no, that was to sleazy. Next plan, what about asking him if he was Scandinavian, cause of his beautiful, curly, blond hair. We kept on going like this for about 20 minuets. All of a sudden a Swedish girl walked up to us and asked for directions. Ding* a light bulb popped up over Annie's head.  She tossed her hair around, turned towards him and asked;

" Hey, do you know the way to ...?" "I'm Norwegian, the guy said".

OMG, it was so embarrassing! Annie responded in the only way she could think of at the moment: "Oh, you're from Norway too?" He had been listening to everything we'd talked about! I think we all were blushing, looking like tomatoes. Then we kinda cooled down and started talking to him. We hoped he just thought Annie was cute for trying so hard to get to know him. Could we have been more wrong? Right at that moment, a new girl walked up to him and gave him the most wet kiss ever. He turned toward us and said; " Hey girls, btw, this is my girlfriend.

No this is not something we made up, this actually DID happen!!! Pore little A, good luck on finding Mr. Right. We know he is out there for you! And until next time be careful of what you say.

Our first two weeks

Since we just got this blog started, it's only fair that we give you a little update on what we've been up to for the past couple of weeks.

 This may come as a shock to you all, but we've been spending a lot of time at the beach ;)

We've had a couple of parties at our place, but since even our crappy Logitech speakers gave enough sound to make our hippie inspired, barfooted landlord a reason to stop by, we had to take a chill pill. No worries though, we just moved the pre-parties to our friends appartments :) When we go out, it's usually at Mooses, Senior Frogs or Varsity. We love our 1-dollar drinks and Long Island jugs.

The highlight so far, was definetly seeing the Warriors vs. the Trojans. Even though it was "only"  a college football game, there was a crowd of about 50 thousand people. The USC Trojans are ranked way higher, but the UH Warriors put up good a fight, so it was an exciting game! The bands, cheerleaders and halftime entertainment made the experience complete! We didn't really mind watching the hot players either ;)

After the game, Tarik got us a free limo ride to Varsity (bar).

We've got this entourage thing going ;)

Guess that's it for now. We had our first day of school today, and after 9 long hours, we're ready to hit the sack. Good night USA. Good day Norway :)
